VISIONARY AND FOUNDER OF FREED BY FAITH
The Hope You've Been Waiting For
WELCOME TO FREED BY FAITH
As the visionary and founder behind Freed by Faith, I’ve walked the path you're on, from years of battling an eating disorder and addictions to living in true freedom.
I fought through countless recovery programs and know firsthand the peace and transformation that come when we surrender by establishing a relationship with God.
I am passionately committed to helping the woman I once was experience the same hope and restoration. You are made for more.
My Story:
Hi, I'm Elyse, and I’m glad you’re here. I'm the founder and visionary behind Freed by Faith, a faith-based recovery coach, and a woman who once believed freedom was impossible.
For years, I struggled with an eating disorder, addiction, perfectionism, and the exhausting pursuit of control. My eating disorder wasn't something I wanted to let go of because it felt like safety, identity, and protection. In many ways, I was proud of it. It gave me a sense of purpose and certainty, even as it was slowly taking everything from me.
The truth is, I wasn't always eager for recovery. I was terrified of it.
I spent many years in and out of treatment centers and recovery programs, and honestly, I was privileged to work with some of the best professionals in the nation, while still not finding lasting freedom. While part of me wanted a different life, another part of me couldn't imagine who I would be without the very thing that had become such a large part of my identity.
What I eventually discovered was that recovery was never just about food, weight, or behaviors. It was about healing the deeper wounds underneath and learning to sit with emotions instead of escaping them, releasing the need for control, rebuilding my identity, and developing a genuine relationship with God.
Through God's grace, support, and a willingness to keep showing up even when I was afraid, my life began to change.
Today, I live in a freedom I once thought was impossible.
I no longer wake up consumed by food, body image, addiction, or the constant mental battle that once dictated my life. Instead, my life is grounded in faith, purpose, peace, and the confidence of knowing who I am apart from my struggles.
Why I Do This Work:
As someone who once believed recovery and freedom were only possible for other people but not for me, I am passionate about helping women discover that freedom is possible for them too.
Throughout my own journey, I experienced firsthand the power of being understood by people who had been there themselves. That kind of support changed everything for me, and it is now at the heart of how I walk with others.
God made something very clear to me through my healing: He didn’t set me free simply for my own sake. He set me free so I could go back and help the woman I once was. The woman who feels trapped. The woman who is terrified of recovery. The woman who desperately wants freedom but can’t imagine what life would look like without the eating disorder.
That calling is the foundation of Freed by Faith.
I also created what I once needed in my own journey, not just an encouraging community, but a community of believers who wrestle honestly with what it looks like to rely on God in recovery.
A space where you can invite God into the recovery process in a safe and supportive way, even while sitting with some of recovery’s hardest questions.
Questions like:
What does it actually look like to surrender?
How do I invite God into this process?
I believe in God… but when it comes to the eating disorder, I’m not sure I can live without it.
This is the space I once needed and the space I now get the opportunity to create for you.
How I Walk With Women Now:
Today, I have the privilege of walking alongside women as they navigate their recovery journey and learn to build lives rooted in freedom, identity, faith, and connection. I combine my Biblically-based curriculum, lived experience, recovery education, and deep belief that lasting freedom is possible.
If You’re Here:
I know what it feels like to wonder if healing will ever happen for you.
I know what it feels like to feel stuck, exhausted, and afraid.
And if that's where you are today, I want you to know something:
You don't have to believe freedom is possible for yourself yet.
I'll believe it for you until you're able to believe it for yourself.
Because I've been where you are.
And I've seen what God can do.
It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you discover the freedom, healing, and purpose you were created for. You are not alone. You are made for more.
